Paradise Point

Despite the tropical feel to the weather last Friday, we still had a nice hike around Paradise Point.  Paradise Point is conservation land, maintained by the Audubon.   There is a cottage for programming along with many outdoor activities offered at the location throughout the summer.  We parked in the lower parking lot and hiked up over the Ridge Trail and then down along the lake.  The terrain was perfect (rather easy) for our students.

Along the hike, we came across many vernal pools just brimming over with recent rain.  In fact one trail had to be rerouted due to the size of the pond.  While the mosquitoes were horrendous and didn’t allow for us to stand still to explore around the pond, we did see lots of movement as we approached the water, sure signs that things were jumping into the water upon our approach!
