Fractions

Last month our calendar pieces displayed fractions, whole, half, 1/4 and 1/3.  This month we have added this fraction work to the shelves.  I don't remember calling fractions by name until I was in the fourth and fifth grade.... thus even today the word fraction makes me cringe!  These students though, they have no fear of fractions and don't really see what the big deal is!  All you do is cut up the pizza into the number of pieces you want!
